Scabies and afraid it's not gone ... SCARED!!!

A  few months ago I developed a rash on my outer arm (white bumps).  The dermatologist and UC doctor both said it wasn't scabies.  A biopsy was done and at my follow-up the results just showed dermatitis.  I actually went to two more UC doctors as it got worse, and they both said it wasn't scabies.  I saw PCP and my derm during this time and they said it looked nothing like it as they did before.  For a second opinion, I went to another derm who agreed it was not scabies or mite related.  So, 3 months later, I decided to see my PCP again b/c it was spreading to my back, inner arms, belly, leg (all in diff areas) and itching horribly.  He said we should treat it as scabies and I would feel better in a few days.

I used the cream 7 das later (Permethrin 5%) and I cleaned the house like mad as well as pretty much all my clothing.  I vacuumed out the car as well as RID sprayed the h*ll out of it and everything else.  I just cannot tell if it is getting better or if I am developing new marks.  It scares me.

I went to an urgent care doctor while home for Christmas because the itching became so intense.  His words were, "it is absolutely not scabies" and said it was bacterial follicitus.  That did help with some of the itching.  I am usually very good with meds, but missed some of my earlier doses and now need to catch up.  So, I hope that helps.

I feel some itching on the back of my neck and there is a bump,  but it looks normal or possibly just a small hive.  I just freak out (OCD) and I feel like I cannot go over peoples' houses or have them over.  The whole vacation at ,y parents' I spent cleaning like mad afraid they would catch scabies from me.  I just don't know what to do anymore.  I used the Perm 5% on a Saturday, did all the cleaning, then used 4 days later and then again on day 7.  That had to do it, but I am just so concerned.  My PCP did not ask for a follow up visit.  I have a follow up with the derm next week and I am debating whether to mention the PCP's treatment.  It's been too long.  It has been the longest 4 months ever.

I just don't  know who to believe anymore. I find it odd that it's 6 against scabies and 1 for and the one for didn't think it was at first either.  I wonder if my PCP just gave me the permethrin to appease me.  Anyone experience anything like this?  Any thoughts and comments on how your post treatment went and felt, would be great.  There are so many awful posts on the internet that FREAK me out more.

A lot of this is guilt from a few random hookups that occurred the month or two prior to initial rash, but I could have picked it up anywhere (gym, hotels, etc ...)

Well if it is/was scabies, that falls under the STD forum categories.  I was just wondering others' experiences post treatement.

I could not even speculate. Since this is not STD related I would ask you to post on the dermatology forum. Good luck.
