Thank you. Your advice has been very helpful.
I would imagine that if Rid were used within a few hours of exposure, it would effectively prevent infestation. However, I am unaware of any data and cannot say for certain it would be effective. However, assuming the kinds of exposure don't change, the risk of infestation seems far too low to make this a worthwhile endeavor. And if your sexual practices advance to more intimate exposures, of course HIV and other STDs are the ones to worry about -- not trivial problems like lice or scabies.
Thank you for your reply. What affect, if any would RID or an over the counter treatment have as a preventive measure for scabies or lice?
Thank you.
Welcome to the forum.
There has never been any research on the mechanics of transmission of scabies or pubic lice (crabs). It is generally believed that both would require more direct contact like frottage ("pressing bodies together"), sharing a bed, etc. I doubt that mutual masturbation could transmit either one. I see no need for you to take any special precautions in contact with your family.
