Scabies or STD?

Over a week ago, my mother went to the doctor for severe itching, which my whole family experienced.  She came back and was told it was scabies, and was prescribed enough ointment for the whole family.  Now my itch is gone, but about 6 weeks ago I had sex with my girlfriend.  When the scabies showed up with my family about 2 weeks ago, and since they have showed up, I have a couple red bumps on my penis.  One on one side, another on the other side.  They have gone down and are no longer bumps, but the area is still red...I have no pain when i pee, or when I have sex.  Is this part of the scabies or could it be an STD?
