Semen Donor and HPV infection

Semen Donor and HPV infection

I have an HPV question with a twist... Everything I've read states that HPV transmission is from skin-to-skin contact. Is it possible to become infected with HPV from a semen donor? Thanks for your time and expertise.

HPV probably can be transmitted through genital secretions as well as skin-to-skin.  Transmission by semen donation probably is theoretically possible, but to my knowledge has never been documented.  In any case, it probably doesn't matter very much, since the vast majority of HPV infections never cause any problem and there is not likely to be any effect on conception, health of the resulting fetus, etc.

Sorry, I don't know if it matters... I'm referring to subclinical/cervical, not the genital warts strain. I'm still learning the lingo, so I apologize if I'm not providing the information needed.

Thanks again.
