Should I Get Tested?

by lolapop3, Nov 11, 2009 07:55AM
I am a 24 year old female who has not been sexually active in 3 years. Prior to that I have had 6 partners, most of whom were virgins. I am now in a committed relationship and I want to have sex with him but I want to make sure I am totally clean first. I intend on getting HIV tested but I don't know if I should get gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and the other ones since the last time I could have contracted them were 3 plus years ago. I do go for regular check-ups and I am HBV vaccinated.

Chance of having gon or chly for 3 years and not knowing is would be very rare at best. Syphilis is rare in develiped countries and rare for straight men to have.

So do you need to...probably not, would it be wise and safe to...yes.
