I read that syphillis can happen without visible symptoms. I do not remember having a rash or having that chancre sore but I have recieved unprotected oral from other men in the past. Is Syphilis something I should worry about? Would the chancre sore be noticable on a penisCancer - penis Curvature of the penis Penis care (uncircumcised) Penis pain? I read that in some areas this is making a huge comeback. I live in Mass.
I'm glad you told me where you live. Yes, syphilis is making a comeback, but its relative. In 2006, the latest year I could find stats for, there were 124 cases reported in Mass.
yeah, i should and i will. i just wanted to know if it is something i should really be concerned with. im guessing 124 is a lot? ugh. im such a moron. i should have known better. in males who get it, do they usually show symptoms?
Yes, everyone who gets syphilis will get symptoms.
That's not really a lot, though.
OK I found a different stat - according to http://www.mass.gov/Eeohhs2/docs/dph/cdc/aids/annual_std_hiv_incidence.pdf, there were 218 cases of syphilis in 2006 in mass.
That might seem like a lot, but there were 15,276 cases of chlamydia, and 2431 of gonorrhea. Comparitively, 218 is nothing, huh?

You could get it from oral sex, but syphilis is really easily tested for with a blood test, so why not test and find out?

Just get tested and put your mind at ease.
