Simple Kiss Question

by sowhatsmyprob, Mar 06, 2009 01:30PM
I guess I could have posted this to the herpes forum since this is what I am most concerned with. My question is that I had a woman massage me and then give me a handjob. I am not concerned with either of those events. I have read many of the previous forum posts and responses from you Drs, which I greatly appreciate. My question is she bent down and gave my penis a quick kiss, probably less then a second. I was expecting this and it was not wanted, but I digress. She did not have any visible sores. Anyway from reading all of the past posts it seems like I really am not at risk for anything, perhaps a tiny risk for HSV-1 or 2. I wanted to confirm that with you. Its been 4-5 days and really haven't seen or felt anything yet. I have noticed some red splotches, which could just be normal blood flow. Would it be worth going for a swab on these, they aren't raised or hurting at all. How quickly would blisters appear from these redmarks if they were starting? Also is there any risk for gonorrhea? I have a history of fearing stds and have sought help for this. I am trying to stay positive and objective on this, but its hard when I look down there and see anything I might construe as abnormal. I really appreciate the work you do here.

Welcome to the STD forum.  Questions about genital herpes are answered either here or on the herpes forum.  I'll go directly to your questions.

"Anyway from reading all of the past posts it seems like I really am not at risk for anything, perhaps a tiny risk for HSV-1 or 2. I wanted to confirm that with you."  Consider it confirmed.  I see no significant risk for herpes or any other STD from the events you describe.

The "red splotches" don't sound at all like herpes.  There is no need for testing, nor is it possible to test skin that doesn't have overt blisters or open sores.  I do not recommend blood testing for herpes in this circumstance.

"I am trying to stay positive and objective on this, but its hard when I look down there and see anything I might construe as abnormal."  Then stop looking.  Trust me:  you were not at risk.  You should just go to the mirror, look yourself in the eye, and tell yourself, out loud "I do not have herpes.  I am putting this behind me and moving on."

BTW I should follow this up with I have been tested in the past via a IGG testing and I was negative for HSV1 and HSV2.

Also the splotches are small( way smaller then a pencil tip, only a few mm) and are not clustered on the shaft in a few places. Thought they might be from working out last night

I saw this comment before I replied above.

Let's not have any follow-up "yes but" or "what if" questions.  There is nothing you can add that is likely to change my opinion or advice.
