Skin on penis

by salesrep2005, May 03, 2005 12:00AM
I have noticed a couple of times ( several weeks apart ) a very small patch of dry skin or what I think is dry skin on the inner part of the foreskin. I tend to soak in the bathtub after long days at work and when I get out and dry off I am careful to dry this area. That is when I noticed it and it easily rubs off like dead skin. There is no redness, no cracking, really no anything but I am somewhat paranoid I suppose because I have seen it twice. Afterwards looking at the skin it is perfectly fine and there is no redness or anything at all. I was wondering if you think this is simple skin irritation perhaps from masturbation or a more scary problem such as fungus or yeast. I know this is a really sensitive skin area but not really sure how the skin works down there.  I am just a very paranoid person and feel really uptight right now so I thought you could share your expertise. Thanks for your time

It certainly isn't an STD.  Abrasion from masturbation is rare.  You might post your question on the dermatology forum and see what Dr. Rockoff has to say about it.  But it sounds to me you have nothing to worry about.

I hope that helps.  Good luck--  HHH, MD
