No STDs ever cause stuffy/runny nose or cough. It's a cold.

I Just want to give you an update about my situation, after couple days sore throat it has stopped , now i am having stuffy nose, a little bit coughing feels like having a cold. I don't know if I should be having any concern about STDs. if feels like just a cold , Anything else are fine, wonder if its just a cold.

There are few STDs that cause sore throat, and even those do so quite rarely. Almost nobody with unexplained sore throat turns out to have an STD as the cause. Both of you probably have colds. But if you want further reassurance, you can be tested. CBT, it isn't necessary to wait a month; gonorrhea testing is accurate any time more than 3-4 days after exposure. Don't delay; there is no "shame in going to be tested".

I am in a similar situation. I had oral sex with a guy that I dated in college, a few days ago. I hadn't seen or talked to him in years and things happened when we reconnected. I have not had sex in about a year and was not expecting it to happen. Two or three days later my throat began to hurt and a white pus appeared. I have been to the doctor to try and get some peace of mind but they have not been very helpful. They keep saying that it looks like strep, but I have had 2 negative strep tests. I am most likely paranoid and over-reacting. Note: I have been having some post-nasal drainage that began around the same time of the throat pain. I have also been having headaches and my ears are very sore. My nose has also been running but I feel fine not like when I have a cold. Google has me convinced that I have Gonorrhea although it is said to be rare. WTF is rare? I need to know my exact odds. I was put on Cefdinir 300 mg. I am just going to take this and hope it goes away. I have a Pap smear in two weeks that should cover all STDs but HIV I think. I am going to wait about a month and then plan a trip to my local health department to get tested. My best advice is go to the county health department and get tested, at least you will have peace of mind. I am going in about 30 days. A tip I learned in college if you are embarrassed go to the neighboring county's health department. You will be less likely to run into anyone you know. I'm 29 now and have no shame in going to be tested. You're probably fine but knowing for sure will help you sleep better at night. Best of luck and wish me the same. I am not doing that stupid stuff anymore.
