Sore throat

Hi all,

I am a sexually active 25 year old bisexual male.  Most recently, I've performed oral sex on a few different men, during which I was exposed to semen.  Since then, I've developed a slight sore throat on the right side of my throat, which is now a full sore throat.  I also have slight muscle stiffness, which I think could be related to something else, but nevertheless, it's worrisome.  I have previously been diagnosed with Herpes 2, so I don't know if this is some sort of outbreak (no cold sores present), or if it's because of something else.  Could it be that the penis irritated my throat?

Any advice is helpful.  I've had no other symptoms beyond sore throat, slight muscle stiffness, and maybe minor fatigue.

Thanks!

In the future I would try to follow what I recommened that way you will not have to worry about STD's.
Also to check for oral gonorrhea you would need a throat swab done.

Did you have the guys wear condoms?
Here is what you can get from giving oral sex to a man...gonorrhea, herpes, and syphilis. Gonorrhea normally doesn't show symptoms of the throat but on occasion can and it would be a sore throat. Herpes...since you have you know about and syphilis would show a symptom of a sore in the mouth.
Oral sex is an inefficent way to transmit STD's while it does happen it is not as common as vaginal or anal sex.

Being sexually active I would advise testing for STD when you have a risk or yearly. And I would advise use of condoms even for oral sex, unless in a relationship or you are positive that your partner does not have an STD.
