Still wonder

by estrellab, Sep 10, 2007 10:58PM
I still think about when my NP gave me the word that my blood test revealed HSV 2 pos. She says that doesn't mean much and that is why she hates the blood test. It doesn't mean you have genital herpes just because your blood test is hsv 2 pos. I do and I don't agree. I went to try to get cultured (have had neg cultures in the past), and she said nothing to culture and tested for yeast, said it was, and gave me the one day yeast med Diflucan. It helped the irritation. I had no rips, cuts, tears, etc when I saw her. My dilemma still is, if it is hsv 2 pos, via blood test then I must have genital herpes. Where the heck else would I have it? Never had it on the mouth, body, etc. I don't know, until I have a cut to culture or something more difinative, I don't feel right saying I have genital herpes. Heck, my husband of nearly 15 yrs doesn't have it and I have been with him through many irritations, tears, etc. I am just not sure what to think anymore. It is not bothering me as much as this post may seem. I lead a very busy, productive and happy life. Just still wonder what the heck to think now with this pos hsv blood test. Thanks guys/gals for listening and being there, EB

It sounds as though you probably have HSV-2, but fortunately for you, you have never had any symptoms.  Some people never show symptoms.
