Stressed about STD possiblity...

On October 4th I had an encounter with an escort. Had protected vaginal sex with a condon and unprotected oral.  A week later a had a slight discharge from my penis...went to an urgent care facitliy and was prescribed teqin and zithromax.  No furhter symtoms (symptoms) except for a slight dull itchy sensation in my urethra that comes and goes.  It seems to be worse after periods of masturbation.  For example, I've masterbated once per day for the last week. And last night I seemed to notice this sensation.

When I first went to the urgent care facility, a urine test showed bacteria present but a follow up test three weeks later was clean.

I'm married and the guilt of what I did as well as this "dull ithcy" sensation is driving me insane.  What do you think??

You probably had nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), which you probably acquired from the oral exposure.  The treatment you received is highly reliable and your persisting minor symptoms almost certainly do not mean any continuing infection, especially since your follow-up urinalysis apparently is OK.  Further, when NGU is acquired from oral sex, it probably is due to normal oral bacteria, and isn't something that you would transmit to your wife by vaginal sex.  In other words, your wife is not at risk.  I think your mild persisting symptoms will fade with time and don't mean anything.

Hmm.....Well from what I have read from the doc here is that a lot of it could be caused by your guilt and anxiety over the whole thing.  Also, if there was bacteria present it could be a number of things as well.  Does it hurt when you urinate?

P.S.  If your penis is bothering you, try laying off the masturbation a little.  Your penis could just be irritated.

I've never had any burning or pain with urination...

I wondered if the iritation is a result of masterbation (masturbation).

From someone with absolutely NO medical background, please take what I say with a grain of salt.  

If you had bacteria show up, did they give you any kind of medication?  If it is gone now, I wouldn't sweat it, but I would get checked again just to be positve.  You picked up some type of infection, that has started to go away, but my guess is that your masturbation has slowed the healing process.  Lay off that for a bit and see how ya feel.  I would still get checked, but I wouldn't sweat it too much.  On the other hand, I would refrain from any kind of intimacy from your wife til you get the OK from your doctor just to be safe.

The initial disharge was slight and a thin white color.  No other symptoms...the urgent care doc did a visual exam of my penis and testicles and deteceted no other signs of STD.  

I abstained from intercourse with me wife until after comleting the anibiotics.

And although I know I can't rely on the trust of the escort, after seeing the urgent care doc I contacted her and asked if she had any std's or symptons.  She did say she went through STD testing and was free of any std's.

As implied in my original reply, NGU probably is sometimes acquired by oral sex, but the specific causes(s) aren't known.  Possibly normal oral bacteria cause problems when they get in the urethra.  This may explain why the escort tested negative.  She doesn't need any treatment.

I went to the doctor to see if I was pregnet and I was they ran some test and when the came back they said I tested postive for syphilis they gave me the three shouts I was suppose to have.  I went back last year for a check up and they said that it was under control, but this year I got a painful red soar on my vigina (vagina) area and I was worried that it might of came back my partner did not take all of his shouts do you think that is why it is reoccuring and do I need to go get tested again.  My daughter did not get infected with it because I was treated during my pregency what should I do.
