Testicular pain/discomfort - chlamydia?

Hello,

I am 23 years old. I had protected intercourse with a girl 7 days ago. After the intercourse she took off my condom and finished me manually. I have had major stress and anxiety problems ever since for my family to find out. I haven't slept well since the intercourse, and I cannot concentrate on anything. I lost my appetite for both food and sex.

I started having some testicular pain, and I read that this could be caused by chlamydia or gonorrhea. Yet, I do not have any discharge from my penis, nor do I have any pain when passing urine. I want to go do a chlamydia test, yet the doctors secretary told me it should be done at least 14 days post contact for it to be accurate. So I have to wait another 7 days.

I have read that the testicular pain is caused by epydimitis, so I was wondering whether it is possible to have testicular pain without the other symptoms? How long does it usually take for epydimitis to grow after being infected with chlamydia? I also read that in some cases one can get testicular pain because of mental stress and/or anxiety. Is this accurate?

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with my questions!

Yes, I've had testicular discomfort that lasted for several days with negative test results. However if it continues you should see a doctor.

Dear Daniel,

Thank you very much for your fast reply. It is highly appreciated. However, the testicular pain has been around for several days, it is not something that just started today. That cannot be normal, can it?

Thanks again!

Stop worrying. It is very unlikely you will have contracted chlamydia from the encounter you describe. And it is my understanding that epididymitis is a complication that comes from untreated chlamydia - i.e. it doesn't happen quickly. Also epididymitis is extremely painful - you'd be in no doubt at all that something was wrong.

For what it's worth, I've had testicular ache / discomfort after sex - and with all negative test results. It passes.
