I still have some discharge (not near as much) and I wonder what is the timeframe of recovery? Is there anything else I can do to make it go faster? Should I go back to get tested again at the end of the week to make sure it is gone? Anything else I should be worried about?
I would wait for your lab results to come back and see what's going on. Oral sex is generally low risk for STDs. Gonorrhea is possible, but not probable. NGU can sometimes be caused by normal bacteria that live in the mouth. If you still have unusual discharge, go back to the doctor and explain that your symptoms have not cleared completely.
Good luck,
Em
I just received the results and I tested positive for clamydia (chlamydia) and gonorrhea(bummer). The symptoms have subsided a lot since I took both medications. I like to think that it was good that I received treatment within 24 hours of the symptoms starting.
My main concern is that both medications were a one time thing...all taken at once. I want to trust that the doctor knows what she was doing, but obviously this makes me nervous that I am not on anything that is extended.
Should I be on some kind of extended antibiotic? What kind of follow up testing or treatment should I do to ensure this is gone?
Nope, those will work just fine, and are the ones recommended by the CDC.
You should call your partner from Friday and let her know so she can get tested and treated.
Also, I'd highly doubt the chlamydia came from her. It is very very rare to have that orally, so you might want to contact the partners you had before her. Its possible you got the gonorrhea from her, but the chlamydia from someone else.
i just tested positive for trich and either gonorrhea or syphilis. i did a lot of kissing with the guy i am now seeing, can he catch anything from kissing? Also, i am on my third day of treatment and have used the same nasal sprays that I used before my treatment, (assuming the treatment is working) can i get it back again from the sprays? I read that you can contact Hep c and other stuff from nasal sprays.
Good luck,
Em

nasal sprays are not going to be contaminated from a std unless you are using them on your private parts.
