To: MD or Nurse - wound care after wart removal

I've had a tiny (3mm x 3mm) genital wart on my scrotum for several years.  Doctor has tried freezing it off several times, but it always comes back.

Recently I was prescribed Aldara for small warts on hand, but was told it could be used for genital warts also.

I took it upon myself to try freezing the wart off with on OTC product, then follow up with Aldara to see if the combo treatment would remove the wart for good (I do understand there are no guarantees that the wart  won't come back even if they are visibly gone).

After freezing, the skin on my scrotum blistered to the size of a dime.  I removed the blistered (dead) skin after a few days and expected the wound to scab over and heal (as it had done the other times I had the procedure done).

However the skin is not healing.  It's been two weeks and it "dries out" some during the day to form a very light "scab" but at night I think the lack of air flow down there causes the area to heat up and the wound becomes very, very moist again.  

There is no pain but shouldn't the wound have begun to dry out and heal by now?
I have Bacitracin Zinc ointment.  Should that be applied to help prevent bacterial infection?  

Main concern is knowing how to treat the wound.  

Cover with non-stick sterile pad or leave open (as I've been doing)?  Should the wound (not the dressing) be kept in a moist state or "dried out"....as right now it cycles through starting to dry out then reverting to a moist state with no decrease in the dime sized diameter of the wound.  

I've read keeping the wound moist aids in healing as the cells responsible for regeneration can "swim" through the moist wound environment quickly as opposed to moving through a scabbed over wound.

you should see a doctor if this isn't healed.  you don't want to get an infection down there.  You don't want to keep the wound too moist..eventually it would need to dry up and stay dry...
but you should have someone look

My Dr. told me to not let a scab form. He told me to keep it covered with Vasaline and a band aide.  I didn't have any Vasaline so I am using Triple Antibiotic ointment instead. It has only been 2 weeks for me as well.
