Trichomoniasis or something else?

by notpsyched, Sep 28, 2009 01:32AM
I am a 23 year-old male. A little over three weeks ago I had unprotected sex with the girl I was seeing at the time. Two to three days after the encounter I started noticing a very slight discomfort after urination; never during, only after. One morning, about five days after the encounter, I had a tiny bit of penile discharge when I woke up, so I went to the doctor figuring it was chlamydia or gonorrhea. They ordered a urine test from a lab and gave me a round of azithromycin and ciprofloxacin in the meantime. The discomfort subsided for the most part after a few days, and the tests came back a week later negative for both chlamydia and gonorrhea. In the last week however, I have been having some discomfort in my lower abdomen, groin, and testicles (primarily the left), as well as a mildy upset stomach that comes and goes. I've also been fairly fatigued, and feel that my epididymis on my left testicle may be slightly swollen. For the most part the discomfort after urination is gone, although I notice a small twinge every once in a while (but this may be my own over-sensitivity and nerves, I'm not sure), and I haven't noticed any abnormal discharge. I am going back to the doctor this week, but would just like to get an additional point of view from a specialist. Does this sound like trich from the above symptoms, or could it be something else? I appreciate your time.

I doubt that it is trich, but could be. Often trich is not going to show symptoms. It could be NGU or a different type of bacterial or fungial infection.

I have the same sort of symptoms did you find out what yours were?  I was diagnosed with epidimitus (spelling) but still dont know the cause.
