UTI? NGU? STD Negative please help

On Friday 22nd I received oral sex from a women that next monday, 2 days later I had a burning sensation when I peed in the morning. 2-3 days after that I saw white some white discharge when I "milked".  My symptoms are stings/buning sensation at random times, I dont get in neccesarily when I am urinate, I urinate 2-3x more then I usually do. I constantly have the feeling like I am holding that I have to urinate, but I really dont have to, adominal pain/bladder full type of feeling.I have had white'ish discharge everyday basically for last 13+ days.   Could test results be wrong?  I urinited about an hour before, I urinated again for the test cup.

I tested negative for chalmydia, gononrhea, and syhphilis. I went to a STD clinic, because im on short term insurance which wouldn't cover a regular doctor visit. April 1st, my normal insurance kicks in.

What could this be?   Im just going to end up going to emergency room or doctor and pay it all out of pocket, as the symptoms are getting worse. I have slight headaches also, no fever though.

Any help would be appreciated.

I agree.  Being symptomatic, he should have been treated.  Good standard of care says that, because you never know who you won't be able to find when the results come back.

And Zillian - you aren't going to die of this.  You need to stop thinking, and saying, that.

Your test is negative for gonorrhea, and I have no idea why your doc tested you more times if you said it had been 5 years.  I would have done the opposite, and told you to stop testing.

If you have anxiety over this, you need counseling, not more tests.  All the testing in the world isn't going to make you positive when you don't have it.

I just want to clear up something about urine testing.

When testing for STDs, you do NOT want to fill the cup.  The idea is a urethral washout, so you only want about the first 30 ml of urine.  Any more than that, and you are only diluting the bacteria you are looking for.

You DO want the first part of the stream though!  It's the opposite of testing for a UTI.  In a UTI, you don't want to contaminate the urine with bacteria that might be only in the beginning of the urethra.  Hence, you catch mid-stream, or "clean catch."  This is the opposite of a STD test.  Some people think the tests are the same, and they absolutely are NOT the same.

Holding your urine for 4 hours is a good idea, and overnight is even better, but usually, 2 hours will be enough.

Also, don't worry about waiting 3-5 days if you are already having discharge.  If discharge is present, then you can be certain that enough of the offending bacteria (or virus or protozoan) is present to show up on the test.  Though really, those time periods are going to be the same in nearly all cases.

Zilian, while DGI does happen, it only happens in about 1% of gonorrhea cases.  Those two guys you talked to were just rather unlucky.  It's unlikely that it's causing your knee pain.

I'll also say that I would never want to wait 15 days, especially with gonorrhea.  That's plenty of time for it to become DGI or a prostate infection, neither of which you want to have any part of.  Odds are it will not, but I would not play those odds.

So, I believe the original poster did have gonorrhea, and I think that the clinic should have treated him for it without waiting for a test.  Having a lot of discharge and an onset time of 2-3 days after oral sex is very strong evidence, and as good as the modern tests are, they do miss some infections.

The lab staff told me that... Yep, but the info changed again. When I took the 2nd test, they didn't tell me anything about 72 hours without sex. And today they told I have to collect the final stream of my urine, not ALL urine. It makes me surprised.

Well, about 5 years. I've been thinking about it A LOT. And I don't think it happened 5 years ago. I don't know how I got this idea. Actually, I had unprotected sex 3 months ago. I told my doctor it was 5 years so I can take MORE tests. The other tests I took (2 and 3 years ago) were negative. I had protected sex during that time. But I was so paranoid, I had to get tested. It was all negative, though.
Now I'm really afraid I could get Gonorrhea. Especially, gonococcal arthritis. I feel pain - again - in my right knee. It hurts. I heard about 2 guys with gonorrhea. They felt a lot of pain in their knees sometime after. 20 days after the initial pain, their legs started to have white deposits, like discharge. Constant fever was also noted. They had to take 2 doses (1 dose every 24 hours) of ceftriaxone (IM). I feel a lot of pain and I took about 12 pills of paracetamol and 1 pill of amoxicilin today. At least I didn't have fever or redness in my leg. They said the redness becomes something awful, the white deposits.
All I know it's... I DON'T WANNA DIE!
I've been search and I found out another doctor! I'll get the results next thursday or friday and will have a consult next friday and will start taking the holy meds.
Today, when I woke up I felt burning while urinating. My urine looks yellow and stink.

Oh and the ejaculation.  I've seen many a urine sample with sperm floating in it from recent ejaculation, so ejaculation doesn't matter so much.  Again, you should wait at least a couple of hours after ejaculating, but I haven't heard that it has to be 72 hours.

I hate that so many labs give so many different instructions.  No wonder everyone is walking around anxious and confused about it all.  :(

You don't have to fast before ANY std testing.  I don't know if they are running other tests on you, but you don't have to fast for std testing.

Obviously, first morning urine is best, but as long as you wait at least an hour (preferably 2), it should be ok.  Its also very important to get the very first part of the urine stream, and not the middle or end, as the urine will have flushed out most of the bacteria by then.

Zilian - you havne't gotten confirmation that you've had this for 5 years.  I will be very surprised, and may have to eat my words, but 5 years would be a record, I'm sure.

"you should not urinate for 2 hours before your test"
I don't think this is true.

As far as I know, the lab staff told me to get the first urine in the morning. The lab opens at 7 am. They say you must stay 8 hours without eating. And, as for urethral swab, you must stay 72 hours without having sex (or just ejaculating/masturbating). I think it might change a little according to the lab you choose, I don't know.

About what AJ say. I just want to use myself as an example. Yes, I got 5 years. But I'm SURE everything's gonna be fine and I'll be saved.

15 days won't cause any issues.

People get problems when it goes several months untreated.

They did not give me antibiotics, the clinic will only give me antibiotics if I tested positive. I'm going to make appointment at real doctors office on Monday, I just hope I don't have any serious problems until then/until I get medicine, its day 15 since infection started...

You should be tested 3-5 days after the encounter AND you should not urinate for 2 hours before your test. Therefore, you test may be invalid. It could also be Prostatitis. Did they prescribe any antibiotics?
