I am guessing, (since I have oral herpes), that activation of the virus occurs at the same time as a fever, but doesn't appear after the fever. Sores usally last one week.
Also, hepes usally start as bumps turn into bundles of blisters, and they are painful to the touch and have clear puss. They are quite obvious to identify.
Thanks for your replies, I've had a look into strep throat symptoms and that might be what I have. Its calmed me down a bit at least and I plan to get tested in a few weeks to hopefully reassure myself. Just one last question, there was a chance it was herpes would the sores come before the fever or the other way around?
Unprotected oral is a risk for Gonorrhea, HSV, Syphilis not HIV or chlamydia.
You had protected anal so no worries there.
Stress and anxiety can cause a lot or all or unwarrented symptoms. try to relax. If you are worried about catching an STD from the oral the you can test for gono at 7 day post, HSV 4 moonths post and Syphilis 6-8 weeks post. Please keep in mind oral is a low risk exposure
So the risk that you should worry for unprotected oral are herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis. But the risks are low. Protected anal -- (again, syphilis, HPV,gential herpes). No risk for gono, hiv, chlamydia, hep B.
Sore throat, well of course makes sense, when you give oral, but usally you don't get an STD from that just strep, or another non-std related pathogen. Its hard to get oral gonorrhea. First your partner would have to have it, and well he said he didn't so, people don't lie about these things, (what they do lie about is the number of partners they've been with).
You can test for oral gonorrhea in 1 week, syphilis at 6 weeks, and herpes at 4 month.
