Unprotected Oral Sex

Had unprotected oral sex two weeks ago. Within 2 days, frequent urge to urinate started, no other symptoms of pain or discharge.

Had my urine tested / cultured, nothing grew. Was given Ciprofloxacin in case of UTI, after a week, the symptoms are the same.

Any ideas on cause(s) and / or treatment?

ngu is just a fancy name for an UTI. the cipro would've taken care of that for you.

Thank you Grace,

I've read a few similar posts here, and from the replies, it sounds very likely you are correct.

The symptoms have mostly gone away over the weekend, and I have been avoiding caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods. Luckily I have never been big on any of the three. I don't drink, coffee only couple times a week, and cannot eat spicy!

The one thing I was wondering still is about an NGU as it has been called here. If that were the case, would that clear up on it's own, or would I still need treatment?

Thanks again,

Marc

sometimes irritation can cause these sorts of symptoms too. At this point just avoid caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods, drink plenty of fluids and avoid sexual activity ( including masturbation ) for a few days.

If a week from now symptoms are unchanged, be seen again for a repeat urinalysis.
