Ureaplasma Urealyticum

Hello,
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past 2 years. After a tubal pregnancy last year that resulted in the removal of my right fallopian tube, we decided to see a specialist.  At the request of the doctor, we have both done various tests to measure our fertility, etc.  My husband recently tested positive for Ureaplasma Urealyticum, and I tested negative.

Question:
(1)  Is it possible that my husband can have this disease without ever passing it to me?
(2)  Is it possible to test negative, but actually be positive?
(3)  Is there a way to know when he contracted this disease?
(4)  How long does this disease take to show-up in a previously non-infected person?
(5)  Could this be a sign of cheating - or are there ways to contract this disease without sexual contact?

Thanks!

Hi, There is much debate about UU but bottom line it part of the natural genital flora that gets out of control for many reasons and can be passed back and forth. Its not considered an std by many professionals.
