I was recently told after my annual check up that I have ureaplasma. My husband and I have been married for 23 years and no partners but each other all this time (Yes I am sure of this). Since we have already had our children we are not worried about infertity so why do we have to try to treat this?
The real question is why would you not treat it? It's a foreign bacteria to the body, the body is going to try to fight it off. But often needs help in doing so. It is more about overall health then fertility.
I will again restate our knowledge or ureaplasma. It is not considered to be an STD as it can be cultured in normalNormal saline flush asexual adults. It`s role is still uncertain. I am not sure why your GYN tested for it, but since you tested positive you and your partner may consider therapy. This is confusing I know. We don`t test or treat for it in our clinic. Take care
