Ureaplasma spp.

by OlP, Mar 26, 2008 07:09AM
Dear Doctor,

Please clarify one thing about Ureaplasma spp. for me:

I recently found out that I have Ureaplasma spp. and am currently being treated for it. My partner got tested as well, but his tests came back negative. Could it be that a) he did not catch the infection from me; b) the infection can only be detected when it's "active" and he still might have it? Should he do any additional tests/be treated anyway? Please tell me what you think.

Thank you very much!

He should be treated anyway.

Results can mean he isn't infected, wasn't tested right, etc.  Regardless, he should be treated.

Oh this isn't the doctor forum, but if you want to talk to the doctors, you can post in the expert forum.
