Urethra Irritation

I had a case of Gonorrhea/Clamydia while travelling overseas.  I was unable to get treatment for 5 weeks after intercourse and I now have prostatitis.  I am being treated with 500mg of cipro, 2x daily for two weeks.

One of my lingering symptoms is pain during urination.  My urethra is irritated and it seems stretched out.  When I have an erection, the tip of my penis (urethra) stetches open.  Will this go away once my prostatitis goes away and I no longer have urethritis?

Probably. You could have more infections other than STDs. If you have only prostatits and you're cured, then you're clean. I'm not a specialist, but I'm sure it would be REALLY good if you could get tested again just to see if everything's okay. That's what I'm gonna do when I finish taking meds.

See you.

Do not mess with this once Chlamidia gets in your prostate it becomes really hard to cure. Take care of your self eat right sleep right avoid alcohol and caffein. Find out if anything will take away from the effects of the antibiotic. Consider Levaquin it is stronger and has better penetration into the prostate. Prostatitis is hard to cure once it gets past the acute phase. Blast this thing out of your system asap. Consider a good dose of Rocephrin, and doxycyclin might be effective against chlyamidia better. I know a guy who had to come to china to get direct injections of antibiotics into his prostate because he had chlamidia in his prostate for 14 yrs. It messed him up. Do things to help get antibiotics to the organ. Prostate massages drink lots of water. Take a hot bath 1hr after a good dose of antibiotics take a hot bath and ejaculate. Like I said get on this and get on it quick. If plausible consider IV antibiotics. Clindamycin.

Thanks for your comments.  After finding out that I potentially have GC (I couldn't get tested in the 3rd world country I was in), I was treated with cipro 500mg for 7 days.  It did not work and I took ceftriaxone and azithromycin which appeared to get rid of the GC, but I still had lingering symptoms (prostatitis)

I returned to the US and I was tested negative for G/C. My doc put me on Cipro for 2 weeks for prostatitis and urged me to wait and see, so I will give it a try.  I will let you know how it goes.
