I recently had sex with a condom and the next week have had vaginal itching. The irritation comes and goes. I have no discharge, no odor, and no other symptoms. I had unprotected sex once seven months ago but I never had any symptoms from that encouter. I have been using vagisil to relieve the itching and seems to work sometimes. What could be the cause?
You could be allergic to the spermicide or latex itself. You could be developing a yeast infection. Condoms are not 100% effective but very very close if used properly. So, it is extremely doubtful that you could have gotten an std from this sexual experience.
Don't stop using the condoms. See a gyno and bring up the possibilities of allergies if you don't come up with yeast or BV.
