Very strange thing happened; false positive on Chlamydia??

I just had my annual Pap smear done and they also did routine Chlamydia and Gonorrhea check from the same culture. I was on birth control pill and was having some spotting on the day the doc. was collecting the pap smear culture sample. She thought more than likely I would need to repeat the test because there were a lot of red blood cells in my culture. Well, the test result came out, no problem with the papsmear itself (they were able to determine "no malignancy" from this sample), but Chlamydia came out positive!! Gonorrhea was negative. My husband and I think very very strange about this, because both of us tested negative two years ago (husband did Chlamydia antibody test by blood, I did both antibody blood test and culture test, all negative). And we are 100% committed to each other (in fact for the past two years, we have never been away from each other - not even a single day or night! We work in the same office.) and we are just very very puzzled by this result!!! Did anyone experience false positive with Chlamydia possibly due to blood contamination in the sample? My husband and I have been monogamous relation since our marriage 7 years ago. I have been tested all negative for Chlamydia ever since I started testing for papsmear 10 years ago. Also, the same for my husband, tested all negative all previous multiple years since we met...

The combination pap that you had done does have false positives. It's recommended that you repeat your chlamydia test with a different test.
