Very worried--please respond!

So to make a long story short, my wife and I had problems around 7 years ago.  We were separated.  I ended up receiving oral one time.  My wife and I worked things out.  I never really had symptoms of anything--but was paranoid about gonorrhea.  Then I was worried that I gave it to her.

So now, 7 years later, we are about to have a child, and she was tested for gon/chlamydia.  Results come in Monday.  Could she have had gonorrhea for 6-7 years and test positive?  Or would it all be gone by now?  Please help!!!!!!

If your wife is healthy then yes.

So are you saying that it would be virtually impossible for the doctor to walk in and say you tested positive, based on the above scenario?  And that he will walk in and say the tests came out fine?

Yes it does but you don't understand because if she had gonorrhea then she would be in no position to even test as she would either be dead, in a hospital or under a Dr's care for some serious issues going on.

I understand that part.  My question is simply on the test itself.  Would it show up positive after this long, or would it be gone and show up negative.  That is all I am currently trying to figure out.  POSITIVE, because she has had it for that long, or NEGATIVE, because it goes away on its own well before 6-7 years.  Does that make sense?

As I have said if she did have it for that long then she would be very unhealthy.

I totally understand what you are saying, and I agree with what you are saying.  My basic question though, is is it possible to have gonorrhea that long, or would it be well gone by now.  Would an actual test show up positive or negative.

I understand the other pieces, and I know I should not focus on the test--I am just trying to think realistically if it is even possible, or if it clears up on its own well before that.

You don't understand, having it for 6-7 years later would cause major issues within the body...like I said organ failure maybe even death, she would not be healthy.
Stop focusing on testing positive or negative because you will not know that answer until Monday. What you do know is untreated for that long would be very damaging to her.

If left untreated, gonorrhea can also spread to the blood and cause disseminated gonococcal infection (DGI). DGI is usually characterized by arthritis, tenosynovitis, and/or dermatitis. This condition can be life threatening.

I understand, and I appreciate the help.  I guess all I am trying to clarify is a "what if".  IF she had it, and didnt treat it, would she test positive today, 6-7 years later?

You are not understanding, if she had it then she would probably have organ failure by now.

5 years ago or so she had some cramping, but that was about it.  Chalked it up to normal female problems.  I just wonder if she DID in fact have it, and it was left untreated, would it show up as positive.

She would have had serious complications by now.

So IF she had it back 6 or 7 years ago and didnt treat it, the test would show up negative now?  How confident are you about that?  Thank you so much for the help.

Impossible to have it that long and not know it
