Hi Doctor,
Thank you for providing such a valuable service! Here is my situation. I am a 35 year old male and have had one partner for the past 3 years. I recently met someone and had an encounter. I do not know this girl well but she told me prior to engaging in any

It has been about 3 weeks now and I don't show any signs. How long would it take for symptoms to show up and when do you think I would be in the clear?
Thanks again, I have read the information on this website and others and to be honest, it is completely confusing. Just looking for some guidance.
Thanks again doc.
I know from reading your forum that oral HPV infections are rare, and in your reply to Scottie2006, you stated that "oral sex is low risk." I guess the question is whether this is because of the infrequency of oral HPV infections or whether there is some other reason.
Thanks for enlightening us with your forum.
Also, what would be a fair amount of time for symptoms to show after exposure? Is there a general timeframe?
Thanks again.
No expert advice says skin-skin is the only route of HIV transmission. The point is that some infections (chlamydia, HIV, gonorrhea) are only by secretions, not skin-skin (because intact skin is not susceptible). HPV, syphilis, and herpes are transmitted either way.

And I forgot to answer the last question: Visible warts take at least 2-3 weeks to appear, usually 1-3 months, sometimes 6 months or longer.

I hve been exposed to HPV years ago with a gf. She did not let me know until after we had intercourse. Fine. I have never had an outbreak, ever and this was 12 years ago although I did have a wart on my face about that time and I figured it could have been caused by performing oral sex on her. If I already have it in my system, and I was exposed (possibly) to HPV again lately, could an outbreak occur?
thanks
Thanks again.

We engaged in oral sex and I fingered her. I was so aroused that I decided to have sex with a condom on. I took a shower afterwards washing myself with Irish Spring soap making sure that I cleaned my private areas really well, just in case because I know that the condom does not protect everything.
I have been reading up on HPV and have become terrified that I might have caught it. I am also a smoker. I smoke about a pack a day. I am not really an active drinker. I just drink a couple of beers on the weekends.
What are my actual chances? 1 out of 50? 1 out of 100? 1 out of 5? What? I am really freaking out! When do you think I should go get tested because it just happend last night. I feel so stupid and scared out of my mind. Please help!!!

I had PID I got it treated.
Then it came back.
I have a boyfriend I have been with him for
little over a year now.
When we have sex we can not use condoms because
I am allergic to latex.
So I am just on birthcontrol.
I was wondering since I had PID and don't use
condoms during sex if My boyfriend could have
PID or some type of an STD?
And if so I was wondering if he does have something I would
also like to know if I give him oral sex would I have an STD possibly in my mouth?
thank you so much.
