What can happen if Ureaplasma goes untreated?

by cctnt, Mar 25, 2009 09:07AM
I just received a phone call from my OB/GYN's office informing me that my culture came back positive for ureaplasma and that my partner should get tested and receive treatment as well. Now it is unsure for how long I have had the infection but I have been prone to getting bacterial infections for years, and have been constantly taking treatment for them. What I would like to know is if I have had ureaplasma for long time untreated, what harm could it have done to my body or my ability to have kids?

I am not sure, I don't believe it would. But I think the best idea is probably to call your Dr and discuss this with him/her.
