What could it be?!

Doctor,
I've had an unprotected one-night stand in April 2008.
Approximately 2 months ago i've noticed a hard, dehydrated dark mocha-brown skin patch on my shaft, 1cm below the head and to the right of it.
it was starting to peel off and so i took it off like one would do with a sunburnt skin patch. It revealed another skin patch underneath of red/rosy color, soft to the touch, almost like skin would look like after burnt skin has peeled off.
The patch is round, dry (as in no puss, or visible liquids in it), does not hurt or itch.
Each week or so, skin would grow back on it, only to be shed later on in the exact same way as describe before. Sometimes, skin would grow, harden and peel off on its outer limits, leaving the inside red still without covering it.
I'm lost as to what it could be. Lately i couldn't but think it is an STD, ran through the pages and came up with Herpes or Syphilis as the closest to my case.
Any ideas on what it could be?

This is not the Dr's form so you would need to post over there for a Dr's advice.
