What could this possibly be?

Hello,  I've been having an ongoing problem that seems to only get worse.  But here goes the story.  Was in Nevda last year and went to a brothel for the 1st and last time in my life.  I received protected fellatio.  The csw was very forcefull and pulled the condom halfway off during the event with her hand.  She put it back on and finished.  Well, needless to say I was concerned, but not freaking out.  I just figured, well, that was stupid and what's done is done.  I can only wait to see if anything comes of this.  Well,  3 days later I felt a tingling on my scrotum.  At the time is attributed it to paranoia and put it out of my mind.  Then about 7 days after the incident I noticed small bumps on my shaft.  They were really only noticable when errect.  And I pretty much assumed that I'd gotten herpes.  I wasn't upset or freaking out.  I didn't have a wife or girlfriend so no guilt issues there.  I just figured I'd find out what was going on when I got back home and saw my doctor.  Well, my doctor looked and said no lesions, not herpes.  Tested me for syphilis and hiv, which I didn't think was even a remote possiblity at the time.  I just figured the only thing that I could have concieveably gotten was herpes.  And that it might just take a while to present itself.  He told me to use jock itch cream on it, which I did.

3 weeks later there was a bit more tingling and a few more little bumps.  Doc said to try a different anti fungal, which I did.  Mind you I was happy and not freaking out thinking I'd caught some terrible thing.  I just figured it was either jock itch or some infection that would just clear on it's own.  Well, 3 weeks later I still had the same symptoms with a bit more discomfort.     Doc told me jock itch could take a while to go away and to be vigilant with the creams.  So i was.  3 more weeks pass and my scrotum turns red and irritated and starts to burn.  go back to the doc, and they give me steriod cream and tell me to continue with the antifungals.  well, things just get progressivly worse.  More burning more pain.  I'm put on anti-fungal pills for 1 month.  and try to keep things dry down there with power.  No creams for 1 month.  the burning continues and spreads in the folds of my skin (thighs).  my entire scrotum and penis burn.  any sort of friction is painful.  So I go to a dermatologist.  He tells me whatever it is is gone and that I'm just sore from having jock itch or whatever it was.  He assurres me there's no way it's an std of any kind.  I belive him and go with this theory.  I double check everything my self and he's right.  Doesn't look like any kind of std at all.  a month passes and the burning gets pretty intense.  Ok.  I'm really starting to worry now.  I go to my primary care doc and get the full std panel done to be sure.  Even though it doesn't appear to be one.  of course everything's negative.  I go back to the dermatlogist hoping that he'll see something new, but he says the same thing he did last time.  Tells me it's probably in my head and not to think about it.  well, I figure.  Okay I guess that's possible.  Never in my mind once did i think, oh my god this is never going to go away.  I thought, I don't know what this is, but I'm sure it will either pass or some doctor will figure out what it is.

Another month passes and the burning gets really really intense.  I go to my primary care doc who prescibes cephalexin antibiotic for 2 weeks.  No results.  Justs keeps getting worse.  And when I say worse, like really really really painful.

So here I am.  6 months later.  ragingly burning pain.  Ok.  This cannot be in my head.  This cannot be jock itch.  So I go to a different derm.  He pretty much says the same thing as the first.  Gives me some cream to ease the pain.  I go to my primary care doc and he puts me on doxy for 1 month.  Well,  now all of the creams burn, so I can't use them.  The doxy was no help.  And to my surprise.  The burning got worse.  I really honestly didn't think that it could have possibly gotten worse, but it did.

So I'll sum up these last few months here.  Tried azithromycin for 2 weeks.  Tried Valtrex even for 2 weeks. all high dosages.  And still the burning continues.  had swab tests that turned up "normal bacteria".  In the last few month's my lymph nodes have enlarged.  My arms, chest, back and face have broken out.

So now, i'm certain it's not a normal std.  I'm sure it's not in my head (guilt).  Especially since the 1st few months I wasn't honestly that concerned.  I figured it would resolve itself somehow or another.  I'm sure it's not fungal/yeast.  So now I'm left with a constant pain that needless to say, after 1 year of this has brought me down down down.  I am certain that this is some sort of bacteria or virus.  No one seems to know though.  I can just barely function anymore due to the pain and the constant reminder of how stupid I was to do such a thing.

I've been tested for hiv twice, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea,Herpes, and Syphilis twice.
Is there any conceivable way Trichomoniasis could cause such a thing?  Doesn't seem like it.

This all came on and evolved so so so slowly.  And now it's become a raging monster.  I'm certain that it's becasue of the sexual encounter.  What kind of bacteria could live in someones mouth that could cause such a thing?

I'm pretty desparate now and any help would be appreciated.

Is there anyone out there that's had a similar experience?  Anyone find out what's going on?  Anyone have any suggestions?

Like I said.  I am barely functioning.  I went from being a very happy person, now to being the worst off i've ever been.

Of course, I wish this hadn't happened and I wish I was more concerned about all of this from the onset, so perhaps I could have treated it properly.

Well, My oral test for Gonorrhea was negative.  I can only assume now that I have some unidentifiable disease.  My tounge now has a yellow coating on it that comes back every day.  Doctors say it's not yeast.  I have no idea what to try next.

Its possible - have you had an oral test?

All of your other tests are negative, and treatment for trich didn't work.  Its (more than) time to start looking at other causes.  You will not get any relief until you do.

now my mouth and throat burn.  I've got lumps in my mouth.  I did get treated for trich to no avail.  Could it at all be possible that I now have Gonorrhea in my mouth?

I have, but my doc doesn't want to put me on more antibiotics.  It's worth asking again.

I do appreciate your thoughts on this auntiejessi.  Thank you.  I don't know who you are, but you are obviously gracious with your thoughts and time.

Have you asked your doctor to treat you for trich?  Its unlikely that you would get that with protected sex, but its worth a try.

It is most certainly an odd presentation of things.  And there is clinically no disease that manifests itself in such a way.  But this all transpired after the contact.

I think that there must be different things going on at the same time to give such a mixed weird presentation of things.  In other words, I think I contracted one or two different things that when put together turned into this monster.  Like maybe I got mild hpv and simultaneously got a bacterial infection.  Which on their own wouldn't be a big deal, but when put together caused this strange presentation of things.  If I can just knock out one of the things happening, perhaps that will give my body the space it needs to focus on the other infection.

The problem is, is that I don't know  what I've got.

Doubtful - a syphilis sore lasts a few weeks, at the least.  If you are concerned that your 9 month test was inaccurate, which is HIGHLY doubtful, then get tested again.

I really don't think this is an std, or related at all to sex, and I have to go on record saying I think you are doing yourself a huge disservice by not examining other possibilities.

if it weren't for the burning in the groin, i'd be sure that it was syphillis, since i've got a rash on my chest and back and white mucus like stuff in my mouth as well.  could it be possible that the ulcer popped before it could form and caused irritation in my penis?

No, your test at 9 months is accurate.

Have you been treated for trich?   That would be the only std left.  I'm sure you've been tested, but testing men for trich is hard, as it doesn't show in the urine most of the time.  Trich probably wouldn't cause these symptoms, but its the only thing left.

I don't know what else to tell you.  You remain convinced that its an std, and its just not sounding as if it is.

Sorry to be such a pest.  But I've had 2 syphilis tests.  One 3 weeks after exposure and one 9 months after.  Could it be possible that the tests were wrong?

I know it's not some sort of allergy.  I'd love for it to be.

I've also gotten blisters and white marks in my mouth.

There aren't any other stds.  Gonorrhea can't enter through the skin, only through the urethra.

The only thing left is to have your sperm cultured for bacteria, and sensitivity to meds.  That will tell you if there is any bacteria, and what meds will cure it.

If that comes back negative, you have to accept that this didn't come from that, and move on to look for another cause.

And allergies and sensitivities can develop at any time.  Perhaps try changing your soap, etc., one at a time and see if that helps.

oh, and the oral was protected but the condom came off halfway through the ordeal and was put back on, certainly leaving saliva on my penis, and possible direct mouth to penis contact.

Something got in my skin.  thus causing the initial tingling/itch on my scrotum as well as the pins and needles feeling on my penis shaft.  I know it's some sort of nasty bacteria, but I don't know what.

could gonorrhea enter the skin but never enter the urethra?

Is there any conceivable way Trichomoniasis could cause such a thing?

Could a syphilis test be wrong?

Please note that my arms, chest, back and face have broken out as well.  Which seems more consistant of something like gonorrhea or syphilis.

You would still get a positive test even without discharge.

You had protected oral sex.  You wouldn't get anything from that.

I'm not saying that you don't have something going on, but its not an std from that encounter.

But I only had a swab test done for gonorrhea.  I had no discharge, so there's no way I'd test positive for it if I had it if I had no discharge to test.  I guess what I'm asking is, is it possible to have gonorrhea without discharge and is it theoretically possible for it to present itself in this way?  I just get conflicting information from different sources.

The thing is, is that I know I caught something from a sex worker.

Oh if you had a negative gonorrhea result, you don't have it.

I wonder something though - you said that the prostate exam was sore.  I wonder if you have an anal fissure.

A friend of mine had similar symptoms for a long time, and it turned out he had an anal fissure that hadn't been diagnosed.  Once he started on metamucil, he got a LOT better.  The area had been inflamed, and was irritating the nerves, which caused all the pain.

Other than that, I'm not sure what else it could be.

Yes.  I have had a prostate exam.  It was sore but it wasn't any sort of extreme pain when he touched it.  The Uro Doc couldn't really say and just gave me a script for anitbiotics.  My urine was clean.

Would it be possible for this to be Gonorrhea?  All the doctors I've seen have said no.  I've had no sort of drainage.  And a swab test was negative, but I've read that it can cause the penis tip to turns red (which mine did) and a burning sensation in your genitals (which I have).  Doctors I've seen have said that this is not an indication of Gonorrhea though.  I have also read that a rash can occur as well.  (which I have).

Thanks for replying.  Sorry it's such a long post.  Been a long year.  I'm 100% sure it's not a standard STD.  That said.  I got it from a csw for sure and it's viral or bacterial.  It showed up days after that encounter.  And i had no change in diet, exercise, clothing, detergents, etc... Never used perfumes.  Always have used unscented dove soap, never put any thing down there prior to this.  It doesn't itch, just burns like someone's holding a blow torch up to it (no joke).  Was given a strong prescription antihistamine that had no effect.  I'd love to think (and did for awhile) that this wasn't someting I caught.  But it is something I caught.  There's no bones about it.  It's quite possible that all of the creams I was told to put on it made it worse than it would have been.

Whew long question. From your history and your exams ..you do not have an STD. This sounds like a dermatitis or allergic reaction to something. So..I suggest shower daily with warm , not hot water, avoid all perfumes and scented products. Use only purpose or unscented dove soap, use only baby powder and no scented antiperspirants. Unscented mineral oil for the really itchy areas. OTC medication available in the US are benadryl and claritin....I wonder if the dermatogists that have seen you have already given you these suggestions. Hope this helps. take care
