What is this

by Dudeson, Mar 20, 2009 09:19AM
Sorry but about 20 minutes ago i had posted this in the dermatology forum and found it might be more appropriate to post here instead, my apologies, but on to the story....Ok so i noticed i had a few bad looking bumps in my genital area. I also have some mild to moderate itching on my thighs, left hand, lower back, and knees. One of the bumps on my hand ended up turning into a blood blister. I went to a dermatologist and he told me that the blood blister was from me scratching it so hard that the skin actually seperated. Now in prior years ive been diagnosed with scabies and cured it. (being ive had it before im almost positive this isnt that being the itching is no wheres near as bad as that was) And also diagnosed with excema. As the dr was looking at my hand to figure out what that is, i mentioned that i was diagnosed with excema and he automatically jumped to saying that thats what it is. Now as for the bumps on the genitals hes telling me its hpv and i am terrified right now. I was told you can never get rid of it but then i was told that you can get rid of it cuz your body fights it off over time. I dont know what to believe with all the conflicting information there is on the subject. but anyways he didnt really give me any other diagnosis except for me telling him what i thought it could be. He applied the liquid nitrogen twice so far over a 3 week span...I had the second procedure about 4 days ago so im still currently healing from that. But when i initially went a few weeks ago he prescribed me Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% to use on the rest of my body....I was told to use it twice a day for 2 weeks so i did....The itching was slowing down a little but but the bumps were still there. Being its a steroid i can only use it for 2 weeks at a time. I have been off it for a week and the itching is coming back just like it was before. Now like i said i know its not scabies being i am still able to sleep at night. However the itching seems to be more prominent in the morning and at night. The bumps on the rest of my body just look like bumps and theres only a few in given areas. The ones on my genitals- Some look like they could be warts and others look like the ones over the rest of my body. Is it possible i was misdiagnosed or is my luck really that bad that i have both problems going concurrently.

As far as HPV, you will get rid of that.  The majority will within 8 months, and 90% by 2 years.

The rest of your skin things - I don't know, and that is probably best for the derm forum.
