What next?

I made some poor choices in the month of January, and now I am really
scared.  I am a guy, and over the course of the month, I had some kind of sex with six
other men.  With three of them, I bottomed with a condom.  And with
three of them I traded oral (both ways) without condoms.  I got tested in
the first week of February (so only one week after the last encounter) for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphillis, and hiv -
all negative.  But now I've been having some flu like symptoms, and I have
a sore of some kind on the roof of my mouth.  What should I do now? How much risk have I put myself at?

thanks again for the response.  so, i couldn't find anywhere to get a culture, and the sore looks like it's healing ... we'll just have to see about the herpes at a later date i guess.  but other things have now come up, and i have a bunch of new questions (sorry).  when i woke up this morning, the head of my penis was itchy and very soon after a constant (sometimes clear, sometimes milky) discharge would come out.  i did manage to find a doctor to go see, but he didn't speak english all that well.  he took a swab of the discharge and sent it for tests, and said it looked like chlamydia (will get results on monday).  he put me on 200 mg (one daily dose) of doxycycline right away for the next 10 days which i've started ... this should kill off either chlamydia or gonnorhea, right?  will this work on syphilis at this dosage and time frame if the infection can't be more than 6 weeks old?  if not, will it further delay testing positive in the long run for syphilis?i know this means i'm probably at greater risk for other things as well.  do u know or can u comment on the effectiveness of the hiv duo test at 29 days after possible exposure?

might as well wait unless you can be seen today or tomorrow to have the lesion inside your mouth looked at an dcultured if they suspect herpes.

ok, thanks for the response.  i am currently traveling in europe for the next couple of months, and i was considering going to be retested at an std clinic in london next week.  this would be 29 days after my last possible exposure, and they give a blood test for syphillis and hiv (duo) ... is that still too soon? also, it's pretty expensive but i'm really worried, is it completely ridiculous to spend the money?  either way i will plan to get retested again just to be sure when i return to the usa (3 months after possible exposure) where it is free for me ...

it is the flu time of year. No reason to suspect at this point that you have anything other than flu/cold going on.

You had most of your testing done way too early. You need to repeat your hiv, syphilis and herpes testing later on.

You can get a lesion culture done on the sore inside your mouth if you are seen within the next day or so.
