What should I do?

Hi there,

I have had these little white bumps on my penis shaft and on my scrotom for about 8 months. There seems to be hairs comming out of some of the bumps on my scrotom. I have also noticed a large red bump on the underside of my shaft. What can I do to get rid of these bumps and if there is nothing I can do when will they go away?

Almost certainly sebaceous cysts (similar to blackheads); when they become infected, it is called folliculitis (the larger red bump).  Not an STD.  This is basically a version of normal anatomy, although in some cases the problem is promiment enough that treatment (e.g., low-dose antibiotics as for acne) may be warranted.  See a health care provider for confirmation and further advice, but in the meantime don't worry about this medically minor problem.

Best wishes--   HHH, MD
