What to do

Ok I need some help on what do do next-
STD test early May 09 all fine

I had a CSW encounter with unprotected oral, give and recieve, and protected intercourse- four days ago
CSW stated she tests every 30 days and always uses comdoms for intercourse.

now my S/O is back after a long absence and is really pushing to have sex
I don't want to explain what I did during the time off-but want to be safe-

no symptoms thus far

I was planning on getting a test for Gonorrhea and chlamydia, not others for timing reasons- would NGU be picked up on these tests?

It would appear that my risk for everything is relatively low if not extremely low-

I know there is no guarantee, but should I wait 6 weeks for other testing before engagning in sexual activity or should I not be concerned?

Well, I was not able to get the NGU test last night, but was able to have gonorrhea and chlamydia tested and should have the results back this afternoon.  Assuming these two test are negative, the overall risk is minuscule, and it is 5 days after with no symptoms, would I be in a position to returning to normal sexual activity with relative asurance that all is ok-

It can be done as part of the chalmydia test in some settings but not all.  I'm afraid you'll need to be specific with your doctor, up to and including pointing out that you know that NGU is more common than chlamydia and needs a special request.

Good luck  EWH

I take it the NGU test is a separate test from chlamydia so I need to ask for it?

I agree that your risk from the exposure you describe is minuscule.  My advice would be to get the tests you plan to get- gonorrhea and chlamydia as well as to be sure you are tested for NGU.  If these tests are negative, I think you can be comfortable that you did  not get STD and can feel OK about returning to normal sexual activity with your S/O.    When you are tested the major testing needs to be for penile infection.  A throat culture for gonorrhea might also be helpful but testing for chlamydia is not needed.

The test for NGU looks for increased numbers of white blood cells in either a swab specimen taken from the penis or a test of urine collected at the very beginning of urination (before the urethra is "washed out" by urination).  For either test, the results are more reliable if you have not voided for an hour or two before getting tested.

Hope these comments help.  EWH
