When should I re-test for Ngu?

I contracted NGU through oral sex and was prescribed 10 days of Ofloxacin. I had urine test at 21 after the last pill which came out negative. My question is if it was too early to test? I still have clear discharge 1-2 times per week in the morning.

If you had a prostate problem you would be in pain right now ---enought to take you to the E.R.   I doubt you have a prostate problem.   You sound just like me about year ago when I was in your shoes full of anxiety and stree and un necessary worry.   You don't have a prostate problem.   Clear discharge in the morning can be a normal  thing.   Of course you can get erections in the morning; most men do.   I think you just never thought about that.

The answer to you last question can be Googled.

just wanted to give you an update on my saga. I did not get rid of clear morning discharge and my lymps were bit enlarged in groin as well. Dr. anlyzied my prostatic fluids and there was an infection. It might have been really unlucky but my case shows that STD can trigger such things even if you get proper treatment on time. I just wanted to share it with you, hopefully you learn from my lesson.

Please disregard my syphilis concern. I am still in dark with my problems. Some clarification - the cause of NGU was the bacteria called mycoplasma genitalium. In addition I did another calculation and actually I tested negative for Mycoplasma 25 days after taking Ofloxacin. I learnt that Urine tests are pretty accurate so I strongly believe that I do not have ngu any more. But what conserns me is continuos clear discharge after I wake up. That has now happened 4 days in a row. I know that because my penis head is moist. I do not see it happening during the day - even if I have long breaks between urinating. I am pretty sure this has not been so in past. I haven't been sexually active for a while and I noticed that I have multiple erections during night and even in the morning. But that has happened in the past as well. Wild guess but could it be prostate problem instead? What would be the other symptoms connected to it?

ok, I see. I had today another syphilis tpha test, again negative. Would Azithromycin taken 7 days prior affect the test and moreover would Ofloxacin taken 7+ week prior skew result?

Ofloxacin has no effect on syphilis, but Azithromycin may have . Any concerns over syphilis (which it sounds unlikely that you have contracted) should be discussed with your doctor.

thank you for quick response, I really appriciate that. I tested negative for chlmaydia and gonorrhea in a first place (when NGU was discovered). I had chlmaydia and gonorrhea tests done along with NGU test 21 days after completing my medication as well, still negative.
What do you think if I had incubating syphilis at the time, would Ofloxacin had cleared this one up as well (I stared medication 6 days after incident)? I had negative Syphilis TPHA  5 weeks (7+ weeks from exposure) after the last dose of Ofloxacin.
Thank you very much!

Hi.

For NGU test I think your 21 day test is fine.   Clear discharge is a good sign after having NGU.

You should NOT expect that Azithromycin would have done it by now (1 week).   It sounds like the first round of medications worked.    Your second doctor (is a good doctor) was be cautious about it, and gave you Azithro, just in case.
You are alright; you should however test for chlmaydia and gonorrhea in one month.

Sorry, forgot to add that visited another doctor after that (now about week ago) and without re-test, he prescribed me 1g Azithromycin to be taken at once. If the first medication did not cure Ngu, could I expect that Azithromycin would have done it by now?
