Wiped toilet seat and use same paper to wipe self

Dr. HH

After using the toilet, I noticed that I had gotten urine on toilet seat, I used some toilet paper to clean it up and then used the same wad of toilet paper to wipe myself clean (damp and friction).  I read some other posting about toilets seats not being a problem, but there was an exception about wet and friction. It may sound silly, but now I wonder what could I  have possibly exposed myself too. I am worried about STI from the previous occupants my urine being wet and me wiping myself thoroughly with that contaminated toilet paper (friction)  Your response is worth the fee for the service .  Thank you.

Welcome to our Forum.  I can assure you that the activities you describe did not put you at any risk at all for any STD. STDs (including HIV) do not survive more than a few minutes, at most, outside of the human body and are not transmitted off of inanimate objects such as public toilet seats.  Even with the moisture of your own urine and the friction from rubbing, there is no reason for concern and no need for testing.  I hope this comment will be helpful to you.  EWH

Yes, when I said "any STD", this included trichomonas.  EWH
