Any way, how certain is it that my body will eventually smack this virus down and control the warts? I want to have sex again but I don't want to spread warts. I am afraid I can never have sex again! Would Aldara be a good route for me? I think I have all the basics of HPV understood - I just want to know how I should adjust my sex life.
well, like you noticed, i'm not a doctor, but my guess is that just because it hasn't cleared up in 2 years doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna have it forever. i have always had a pretty weak immune system; the worst allergies my doctor had ever seen, always getting sick, can never fight things off. but i was diagnosed w/warts about a month ago and since then I started eating sooo many immune-boosting foods (the best foods for your immune system are garlic, sweet potatoes, onions, red meat, and that's all i remember for now but you can look up "immune boosting foods" on google and you'll find more). My warts are already shrinking! And I have a weak immune system. Plus I ordered this liquid immune supplement online, sorry but i dont remember where, and well I haven't started taking it yet (it smells horrible!), but I imagine that might help you. So my suggestion is, like you said eat really healthy - lots of veggies & those immune-boosters, and quit smoking. I don't smoke so I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but you would be best without it. But that's all you can do to fight the virus.
as for the wart itself, I have heard that apple cider vinegar works even better than aldara (which is soo expensive)! You're supposed to soak it into a cotton ball and tape it over the wart and keep it moist all day. I think it takes a couple days or a couple weeks but it'll start to swell at first and then turn black and scab and eventually go away. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've heard it really works from so many different people. Best of luck to you!!
