It definitely could be. Many people believe that an outbreak of herpes has to have blisters present, and that is completely not true. Herpes outbreak could be as minor as a rash or itchiness, and mistakened for yeast infections or just minor skin issues.

Usually, a person experiences 5 - 12 outbreaks of herpes per year. If your girlfriend is HSV1 +, then constantly having unprotected sex with her puts you in a very high risk of acquiring herpes. Because an outbreak of herpes for females could go unnoticed, but she is very infectious during that time span.

is it possible to have the outbreak in the pubic hair?

like i said i'm going to the doc tomorrow and believe me i wouldn't have had sex with her if i knew she was HSV 1 + she just told me about this 2 days ago after we've been sleeping together for a year.

I don't have any pain duiring urination nor any spots in my penis either. It's just the outbreak is in my pubic area. on the right side is where the rash is. again is it possible to get an outbreak there and not on the penis area.

thanks.

yes, an outbreak of herpes could cause irritation to any parts of your groin area.
Also, the lymph nodes in your groin area may be swollen, it is a sign of your body fighting against the virus.

hey thanks for your replies you have been very helpful.

so you are thinking that this could definitely be herpes. i dont know about swollen lymph nodes i don't even where they are to be honest but the only discomfort i'm feeling is from the white head that i see and i only see after taking a second look.

i know the chances of me having hsv 1 is very high since i have been with someone who is + in that area, what are the chances of me having hsv 2? are these 2 the same?

thanks a lot.

hsv1 and hsv2 are both herpes complex virus. When this virus cause an infection in the mouth, we call it hsv1 or oral herpes. When this virus cause an infection in the genital areas, we call it hsv2 or genital herpes.

When a person that has hsv1 (oral) provides oral sex to another person in the genital area, if the herpes virus is passed on to the genital area, then the receiver is now positive with hsv2 (genital).

hsv1 and hsv2 are both herpes virus, the names are different because the effected area are different.

thanks a lot again zh009

i guess i'll find out tomorrow morning when the doctor takes a look at it.

but i'm extremely worried, but i guess i gotta get ready with the worst, because i think it could end up being herpes.

keeping my fingers crossed.

At the same time, it could be anything other than herpes. Don't jump to conclusions -- often times an irritation in the pubic hair is not herpes. Wait until you hear more from your health care provider, and not from others online who can't diagnose you anyway.

Also, I ask that zh009 need not reply to any of these threads. You are completely incorrect in your advice and clearly do not have an understanding of HSV.

The part: "When a person that has hsv1 (oral) provides oral sex to another person in the genital area, if the herpes virus is passed on to the genital area, then the receiver is now positive with hsv2 (genital)." IS A FALSE statement.

Instead, a person receiving oral sex from someone HSV-1 positive would then become HSV-1 positive, not HSV-2 positive. The viruses do not change in their type. Please get your facts straight, especially when posting to others.
