Worried about oral STDs

Hello! 5 days ago I had sex with a prostitute. I wore a condom all the time throughout the intercourse, during her giving me oral also, however I performed cunnilingus on her while she was not protected with anything. Since then I'm really losing my mind. I've read that the biggest possible deceases I can get from that are: HPV, herpes and syphilis. I don't have any valuable symptoms, except I noticed my tongue kind of feels a little weirder than usual (or maybe it's autosuggestion and paranoia, I've never done anything like that before). Plus I've read that I can only get tested for STDs in a minimum of a month after sex, so what do I do until then? What if I already have syphilis, and will have to wait for a whole month while living in a house with my family? I'm really scared of infecting them. And they're not the kind of people who I can tell 'hey, i might have syphilis, so I'll just stick with disposable tableware and stuff.' I got an appointment with dermatovenereologist in a day, just thought the doctor could look into my mouth to see if maybe there's something happening there already. And more importantly, i have NO IDEA what to tell them if in a month it does turn out that i have the decease. From what I read it doesn't seem like I can hide going through treatment. Please help with advice!

Alright so you have a lot of anxiety, which is very understandable.  You are correct in assuming the most significant risk activity was the cunnilingus, and you are pretty spot on with deciphering what you are at risk for.  Also the testing window you mention is fairly accurate and it's best not to test to early.  Now here's the great part, the worst thing you are worried about, Syphilis, is totally treatable with a single shot!!!  And since you would treating it early you would be doing yourself a huge favor.  Unless this prostitute had a visible sore that you encountered then I would say the odds you actually contracted it are very low (if she even had it to being with).  As far as HPV...great news is coming out that suggests most strains can be rid by the body in up to two years (faster if you lead a healthy life style) and that there are all kinds of emerging ways to treat HPV.  The worst thing for a man would probably be the genital warts and those are totally treatable.  As for Herpes, again she would have to be shedding at the time (have it to being with), and even if you get it you may never show symptoms, and even if you show symptoms there are numerous treatments out there. In the meantime, I would take a deep breath, relax, and focus on other priorities in your life (easier said than done right!).  Paranoia and stressing about this is going to get you????? No where.  Googling and researching all this is great but don't let it dominate you or add to your stress.  Check back in here if you decide to get tested and keep us up to date.  It's always great to hear a "results came back negative"!
