Yeast Infection or more serious?

by nebrin, Jun 14, 2007 12:00AM
I had a one night stand a week ago while I was at home visiting. Since then I have developed red, itchy, burning "downstairs" along with milky white discharge. No abnormal smell. I am just worried that maybe I have contracted some kind of STD.  It fits all the symptoms of a yeast infection, but like I said, I am worried! I've never had a yeast infection or any kind of STD so am also wondering if I should go to the doctor.  If it is just a yeast infection, an OTC should clear it all up, correct? Thank you for all your help!

either way, they say for your first yeast infection you need to be diagnosed by a doctor because they are commonly misdiagnosed.  and you shouldn't start treating it until you know for sure what it is either.
