about gential hsv-1

by Snappy3998, Nov 10, 2007 02:46PM
Hey guys,

This is my first time here...I think I just contracted HSV-1 gentially recently and am trying to figure out how to handle it...i'm going to go on acyclovir-- my big question is-- i have a hard time accepting there isn't some way to kill this thing.  i was told outbreak free works with kevin trudeau, (i am aware of his history-- but alot of his stuff does seem to work)-- and I tried this DMSO cream and it worked great-- but i never did it consistnetly for three months with the other stuff recommended...anyone know of anything that works or is it completely hopeless?? since I got it, it's come back twice-- is that an inidicator its going to come back every month now?? I thought gential hsv-1 doesn't recur that often (once /year, if that)-- anyone know or hear anything....I can't believe this.  Is there really no cure? that's what western medicine says... maybe, maybe not.  I am going to try everything I can starting today to see if I can get it to stop recurring permanently though. DMSO and outbreak free the way suggested are first on the list.  after that...we'll see....any suggestions anyone? I think I'm still in shock on this-- I can't even work it bothers me so much.  Please feel free to comment anyone...i think i'm more venting than anything else at this point.  Anyone know of cures on the horizon?? Any hope at all?? Jeez this sucks.  Oh ya, and can you get bumps on your testicles from it? I have those too, and I 've heard both that you can and that you can't, or it is very rare....anyone know?   there must be a way to beat this thing.

I know it is a sneaky virus. Normally likes the same general areas though. Man, wish you luck, EB

I would suggest you talk to your doctor to discuss all the options.  There is no cure for herpes, but there are supressive treatments (Valtrex being one of them).  Some people go outbreak free for YEARS, while some may have outbreaks up to 5 times yearly (less when you are taken the suppressive treatment).

Having 2 outbreak episodes doesn't mean you will get an outbreak every month.

I know, it's scary and it's not something anybody wants to have, but try not to freak out about it.  It is not life threatening just a bother and quite annoying.

The internet has a lot of information on the virus, so, read and educate yourself about it.

Instead of wasting your money on quacks like kevin and dmso - go see your doctor and confirm that indeed you only have hsv1 genitally going on.  Yes for most folks it doesn't reoccur very often but in a small percentage of folks it does.  Find out if you indeed do have herpes and if so if it's hsv1 or if it's hsv2.  Also make sure you don't have anything else going on like a bacterial skin infection or even a whopper of a fungal infection going on.

No there isn't a cure for herpes and there aren't any on the horizon unfortunately.  There actually isn't a single viral infection that has been cured by modern medicine - it's just not that easy.  Very few of us get thru life without at least one herpes infection - either hsv1 or hsv2. It's up to you how you decide to let it effect your life.
