HI I'm 23 years of age
I have recently had unprotective anal sex and now I think I may have gonorrhea,
I know I need to be tested!
My question is do  I pass the infection from the infected area or through semen

ok my thread is Do I have a STD? When I called the MD office they told me to stop taking the meds and to come in and get retested b/c I'm now having urge to urinate almost every second and I didn't have any symptoms before I started taking the meds. The nurse at the md office said that she thinks I have UTI and that they would retest me especially sice my boyfriend was tested twice once by them and his results was negative twice oh you can reply back in my thread

Oh I'm so confused lol.

So you ended up being positive for gonorrhea?  Are you sure?

If you were, nothing they gave you will cure gonorrhea for sure, and even if it did, you've probably been re-exposed by your bf.

Testing tomorrow won't do any good, as you've been on all these meds, and they can give you a false negative result.

The timing suggests that this came from your bf after he got back from the army.  Has he been tested or treated?  He needs to do both.

To be treated for gonorrhea, you need a shot of ceftriaxone.  That's the only one recommended now, as there is resistance to the others, and they might not cure gonorrhea.

Cont....

And every since I've been taking these meds a treated my self for a yeast infection in june and I had no more burning and discharge and went to doc office on July 6 tested pos for gono but didn't start burning again untill I started taking all of those meds which was on August 1 thats why when I called the md office back they perscribed fluconazole for treatment of a yeast infection normally when someone has gono how long is before the symptoms go away when they're taking the meds?

I recently went for my check up  on July 6 for my depo and they told me I had and std when I called on July 30. When I called on the nurse told me I had Gonorrhea and Chlamydia at the time I wasn't home so I tried to get my records transfered. When the other MD office received my records they said I had Chlamydia not Gonorrhea. By the time they got my results they closed and I went to another doctor the first clinic never sent my records so I was treated for Chimed and Gonorrhea and a bacterial infection b/c he didn't believe that I had Gonorrhea he told me I would be in alot of pain. I did later found out that the test showed me positive for Gonorrhea. The issue is that my boyfriend and I have unprotected oral and vaginal sex and he got tested twice and has nothing. I did sleep with someone else four months ago with protected sex and told them to also get tested. Which I don't believe that I got it from them b/c its been so long ago and we used protection and there was no oral sex. Recently I have been taking the medicine and I started having vaginal buringin and they prescribe me another medicine to take for a yeast infection. I never had any unusual discharge ( green or yellow). I do remember when my boyfriend got back form the army on the 14 we started having unprotected sex a few weeks later, it was burning to pee and I had a discharge that was white,so i took a monastat one a day. We had sex too soon b/c the medicine had not dissolved all the way and when we tried to have sex it was all over him. Other than that I haven't had any symptoms and those are common of a yeast infection. But if the other guy comes back negative also is it possible i was misdiagnosed? And even if the other guy gave it tom me my boyfriend should have it too but he tested negative for it twice. He was tested last week and the week before SOMEONE PLEASE HELP SORRY IT'S SO LONG??????????? also if we did have unprotected oral sex could it be in my throat also will the medicine I'm taking now treat it or will i have to get that tested to tomorrow I'm going to get tested again to make sure my results were right.

Nope, none of those will cure gonorrhea with any certainty.  Are you taking all those meds??

There is no need to take fluconazole and metronidazole together.

Taking meds that you don't need only builds resistance, and these meds might not work when you need them to.  Its not a smart thing to do.

If you are currently taking doxycycline hyclate 100mg twice a day 2 weeks, fluconazole 200mg once a day for one week, metronidazole 500mg twice a day, will these medications treat anal oral and genital gonorrhea? Or are there different meds for each one?

It would be from the infected area, but if this person also gave you oral, you could have it in your urethra, therefore making you infectious there as well.  If you also gave him oral, you could have it orally as well.

Do not have sex until you get tested, ok?   When you go to get tested, make sure they swab you orally and anally, and do a urine test to see if its in your urethra.
