about 10 days after a sexual contact i developed symptoms (burning while urinating, frequency, milky discharge)... the doctor prescribe cipro (spelling?) while awaiting test results.  the symptoms subsided in 12 hrs and all went away in about 24 hrs.  once the test results returned indicating gonorrhea, he added a high dose of zithro (spelling?) to complete treatment.  the symptoms have gone away and not returned.

does this sound like adequate treatment?  aren't there drug-resistant varieties out there?  should i be worried?

If your symptoms improved, its fine.

Some gonorrhea is resistant to cipro, but it appears to have worked for you.  You can always ask for a re-test in a month or so from your treatment to make sure it worked.
