azithromycin question

when taking azithromycin for Chlamydia or Gonnorhea, how long does it typically take symptoms to subside? i know often times with taking this drug or a similar one for something like a sore throat the symptoms may go away almost over night. is this the case in this situation as well? thanks a lot!

Well, here's the thing.  Patchy, dry, peeling skin is not a symptom of chlamydia or gonorrhea. That sounds like a possible fungal infection, or a skin condition.  Why you were prescribed cipro and azithromycin is something you would have to discuss with your doctor.

There isn't an std that you can get from just being licked or masturbated.  You should try going to a dermatologist for this.

yes, the doctor prescribed both Cipro and Azithromycin to me, despite having been negative for Chlaymidia on urin test. not sure why it was prescribed under the circumstances. the encounter i referenced in my previous post happened last weekend. if you get the test only 3-5 days from exposure does it effect the reliability of the test?

Is this related to your symptoms in your previous post?

Azithromycin is not recommended treatment for gonorrhea.  It is for chlamydia and it can take anywhere from 24 hours to a few weeks for all symptoms to subside.  It depends on the person being treated and how their body responds to treatment as well as how far the infection has progressed.
