bacterial infection possible?

bacterial infection possible?

Hello,
25 days ago I had vaginal sex with a woman, and the condom came off. Since then, (off and on), I have had a slight burning while urinating, and at times a dull ache in my right testicle. I have looked constantly for any discharge, and there has been none. I have had experience before with my mind stressing me into running to the DR only to receive negative test results. So, my question: is it possible that I contracted a bacterial STD in this situation, given that there has been ne discharge from my penis?

Is it 'possible' you acquired a bacterial STD (chlamydia, gonorrhea, NGU) after unprotected vaginal sex?  Of course.  Is it a likely cause of your symptoms?  No.  The testicular aching definitely isn't an STD symptom, but is typical for genitally focused anxiety.  But I cannot say whether anxiety explains the tingling.  Most likely you aren't infected, but the only way to know for sure is to see a provider for personal examination.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Hello Dr,

Thanks for answering my question. I tried just a moment ago to pay and post a new question, but I received an error message telling me that the forum was full for the day. Please answer this question, and I will donate some funds in any way you deem appropriate.
I took your advice and went to get tested, at two different clinics. They both performed a urinalysis, and said I had no white blood cells present in the urine. Still, neither of them would go as far as to say I did not have an infection. One of them preferred to go ahead and treat me, and the other drew blood and told me to return in two weeks for results. I was feeling fairly confident until today, when my wife complained of pain in her abdomen. Evidently it was a sharp pain, but no burning upon urination.
What are the odds I have had a bacterial infection, given I never had any discharge, no white cells in my urine, and only a bit of burning with urination, 25 days after exposure?

Thanks again,

~me
