I am 17wks pregnant, and just went to the dr. and found out that i had cervicitis? I want to know if this is sexually transmitted or could it be caused by some kind of hormones? I was not aware of any symptoms. and I had just had my exam about 1-2mo. ago and when they did the STD it came back negative. Can anyone answser my question. my husband says he hasnt cheated on me but I really dont believe him.
Thanks everyone.
The three most commonCommon cold causes of cervicitis are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomonas. All three, it should be noted, are considered sexually transmitted diseases or STDs. If cervicitis is caused by an STD, treatment for your partner is also crucial.
I found that on the following website, which has a lot more information you will probably find helpful.

But that doesn't automatically mean it's from an STD. Best of luck to you!!
Did they test you for any stds? Were they able to tell you what is causing this?
How are they treating it?
And if you don't trust your husband (which is an entirely different thread in an entirely different forum), he should be tested, and since you are pregnant, you should be using condomsCondoms Female condoms.
Cervicitis isn't always caused by an std. It can be caused by other infections. It sounds like you need to check with your doc to see what he/she thinks.
