chances of getting Hep B from oral encounter?

by worrier1000, Feb 22, 2009 11:16AM
Hi,
I gave oral to a sex worker from Vietnam - it was not deep (just on the surface of the clitoris) , and i wiped my mouth with a tissue straight after.
this was a stupid move, i know (i did use a condom during sexual intercourse, and have been advises that HIV testing would not be necessary).
What would be my chances of contracting Hep B from this, or even other stds?

Very low.  Hep B is not likely to ever be transmitted orally, and some experts say it isn't ever.

There is a low chance you could get oral gonorrhea and syphilis from giving a woman oral sex, but its unlikely.

Thanks for your response, and has taken a load from my shoulders.
I had protected intercourse with a condom, but the oral that i performed on the sex worker left me very anxious. i have never been (and never will be after this) unfaithful to my girlfriend, but have not had sex with her since this incident which was over 2 months ago.
Question is: If I did contract
1.oral gonorrhea
2, syphallis, or
3. HSV 1 or 2,
would i have oral symptoms or any other symptoms by now? Would you advise i go for a discrete test. for the above?

and could I ask - there is no need ofr me to take an HIV test in your opinion?

You probably won't ever get oral herpes from giving oral sex.  Herpes doesn't go from the genitals to the mouth nearly as easily as it goes from the mouth to the genitals.

No need for an HIV test.

No symptoms for over 2 months says you don't need to test.  The chances are low enough to not warrant testing.

thank you very much.

One last thing - the sex worker performed unprotected oral on me  - but again, i have had no symptoms to suggest HSV neither in my mouth nor genitals.
I take it i should stop worrying then?

LOL yes, you can stop worrying.  Oral sex is lower risk than sex is, so no symptoms for 2 months is good enough to not test.
