chlamydia test results in timeline

by pegleg50, Mar 07, 2009 12:50PM
I had intercours with a man (the first) since divorce a year ago. There was a very pundgent odor afterwards.  This odor is smelled months before, when urinating.  I was diagnosed with Chlamydia. He was tested 10 days with the swab test after our sexual intercourse.  He tested negative.  Was 10 days long enough for his test to show a positive?  It took about 5 days to get his results.  He has not taken any medication.  I took the azithramiacin 2 weeks ago after being tested positive.  What is the time frame for a man from sex to test to show?  Is he indeed negative?  Thank you

He could be negative, or he could have had a false negative result, or he might be lying about his results.

He should be treated regardless, though, since you have it.
