circumsion scar tag or warts

by 83tired, Jul 19, 2008 09:24PM
hey i hope someone might be able to relate to this?

i have this fleshy skin patch in the wrinkled folds on the circumciosn line of my penis...it is really only noticeable when the penis is erect or the wrinkled folds are stretched...it is a little bigger than the rest of the folds when it is flacid..it is semi movable and has a slight cauliflower appearance or so i think actaully when i run my finger through the lesion it chnages appearances...can skin tags have a cauliflower appearance? i went to my doctor who affirmately said no it was just extra skin from circumciosn and warts dont ususally occur there?  does anyone have the same problem?  another doctor said bascially the same thing mentioned a skin tag even though he wasnt as sure at first.....is it silly not accept two no's from MD's?   would a dermatologist have a complete different opinion than two regular doctors?

please share any expereince or opinions

If its bothering you, why not ask one of the docs to remove it and biopsy it?  This will help the appearance, and you'll get an actual answer as to what it is.

i just had a follow up question for your opinion....would a dermatologist take it upon himself or to remove a gential wart or direct a lesion he deemed to be a wart removed for a biopsy upon inspection?  or would i have to ask the derm to remove the wart?  the reason i ask because when he looked at it he just glanced and said i was fine and moved on he did not give me a diagnosis of what it was i just took his answer as no it wasnt a wart, is that likely to be the correct way of thinking?

Yeah, if a doctor doesn't think its anything to worry about, he will just move on.  If you want it removed, then ask for it.

If he thinks its a wart, most doctors would talk about treating it.  You can always call and ask for clarification of his diagnosis.
