citrobacter freundii

My name is steve.34 years old.6 feet tall and weighing 84kg. i`ve been suffering from burning sensation around my private part for over six months.i did a sexual health check and my blood culture results indicate heavy growth of citrobacter freundii.i was given ceftriazone combined with gentamicin but symptoms have not improved after 3 days of treatment.please advise.

also a blood culture, isn't going to reflect what is causing you to have burning sensations around your genitals.  you probably need something else for the genital area. If you didn't already have a fungal infection causing your symptoms genitally, odds are you will get one from the antibiotics you have been given :(

you need to give this a full week. if you aren't better then, return to be seen.
